 FAQs

  • CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.

This model connects people directly with farmers. Created in response to a globalized food economy, CSAs provide consumers with secure access to local food. Not only that, participating in a CSA creates a community for consumers to develop relationships with the people that grow their food and support them directly!

  • Organic: foods grown without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. The term also refers to living things or the material that they produce; grown in and preserved by nature.

IPM (Integrated Pest Management): a broad practice that integrates physical and chemical tools for pest control. This approach minimizes health risks, environmental impact, and economic strain. Pesticides are commonly used as a last resort and chosen with regard to human health and environmental effect.

  • Our farm is organic, but our CSA program is a mix of organic and IPM produce due to our collaborative model!

Being an organic farm can come at a cost to the farmer. Maintaining an organic certification comes with annual fees, more expensive materials, and a challenging transition period. Many small farms can’t justify making the switch, but still operate in ethical, environmentally-focused, and health-conscious ways.

  • Our CSA will always be a mix of organic and IPM produce. If you are looking for a strictly organic CSA, we may not be the right fit for you. We encourage you to join the CSA that best suits you!
