 FAQs

  • CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.

This model connects people directly with farmers. Created in response to a globalized food economy, CSAs provide consumers with secure access to local food. Not only that, participating in a CSA creates a community for consumers to develop relationships with the people that grow their food. Supporting a CSA is supporting a farm for the season.

  • Organic: foods grown without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. The term also refers to living things or the material that they produce; grown in and preserved by nature.

IPM (Integrated Pest Management): a broad practice that integrates physical and chemical tools for pest control. This approach minimizes health risks, environmental impact, and economic strain. Pesticides are commonly used as a last resort and chosen with regard to human health and environmental effect.

  • Our CSA program is a mix of organic and IPM produce. We have a unique, collaborative program where we work with local NJ and PA farms.

Being an organic farm can come at a cost to the farmer. Maintaining an organic certification comes with annual fees, more expensive materials, and a challenging transition period. Many small farms can’t justify making the switch, but still operate in ethical, environmental, and health-conscious ways.

We believe in supporting our local farmers! Doing so can reduce carbon emissions from the travel required to obtain only organic produce, as well as holding up our community.
