Our Roots

Before Fairgrown Farm, brothers James and Alex Klett created River Road Gardens. In 2016, the two began their farming journey. With no prior experience, their first two years were a struggle to get ahead of the learning curve. They were carried by a vision and a willingness to learn. With struggle came success.

In fall of 2022, the Klett brothers approached the Watershed Institute about renting the farm on their property. This officially established Fairgrown Farm. Wanting to move quickly, Fairgrown moved in over winter.

Our Growth

Since 2022, the Fairgrown team has expanded the CSA program while growing relationships with local farmers across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. These dependable partnerships are what helped establish the Fairgrown Collaborative, a strong network of local growers.

Our Mission

Provide fresh, locally-grown produce to our surrounding communities while following our guiding principle:

Fair to Our Team

Fair to Our Land

Fair to Our Community.

Prioritizing Local Foods

At Fairgrown Farm, we combine produce from our own farm and our trusted partner farms.

The resulting collaborative model ensures a steady supply of high-quality, local produce every week, strengthening our regional farming community through meaningful, farmer-to-farmer connections.

Sustainable Practices

In addition to supporting local, Fairgrown is committed to sustainable practices.

By collaborating with partner farms, we reduce our environmental impact and foster inter-farm connection.

Our farm partners use a mix of Organic and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices.

This means our farm share program is not exclusively organic.

However, IPM still largely follows natural practices, only using synthetic pesticides when absolutely necessary. Our approach allows us to provide customers with a diverse variety of local, seasonal crops throughout the year, while continuing to support local farms.
